Trusting the Lord

We have lived in Indiana for a little over a month now and have finally settled into the swing of things.  The kids are settling in and Steve and I feel at peace with our move and our future here in Noblesville.  In the last month, we have joined an active small group from our church, grown closer to some good friends from Michigan who moved down to Indiana last fall, and met lots of new families in the area.

We are currently attending Heartland Church in the Noblesville/Fishers area and we are so blessed to have a great church to go to.  The music is great, the preaching is incredibly encouraging and most importantly, biblical, and the people are very friendly.  We are looking forward to getting plugged into serving at church this summer!

Joelle is now 5 months old!  She finally started to roll over and is quickly learning to sit up on her own!  A few weeks ago, she discovered her tongue, and loves to blow raspberries and drool and spit all over the place!  She is still our wide-eyed little girl, though, and every day I am more and more grateful for her.  She is teaching me so much and I thank the Lord for giving her to us!  We are so blessed!

Jonas has reminded me of true Joy in life these past few weeks.  He can be feeling like poo, yet still give me a smile whenever he come into the room.  He is such a sweet little boy and he brings so much happiness to our lives!  The other day, I was listening to the radio, and the Chris Tomlin “God of Angel Armies” song came on.  We were in the car, so I started to sing along, and right in the back seat, Jonas sang along with me!  It was enough to make my day!

Our house in Grand Rapids has been on the market for a little over two months now, and we are praying daily that it will sell soon.  Over these past two months, we have seen God's faithfulness work in many ways!  The times that we thought we would be short on money were the days we would receive a reimbursement check in the mail; the days that we didn't know if we could live with the stress of owning and renting at the same time were the days that a friend would call and encourage us to continue to trust in God.  We know that this is where God wants us to be, and we are trusting our home in Michigan will sell in His timing.  Please join with us in praying that it will sell quickly!

Here are some photos of the kids from the past month!  Thanks for stopping by!

Indiana Livin'

Well, we are officially Indiana Residents!  We couldn't have asked for a smoother move.  Everything went so well, we were actually surprised!  God provided enough guys to help us load the truck on Friday afternoon and plenty of people to help us in our new apartment in Indiana.  We are so grateful for our friends who came out and helped us.  We really couldn't have done it without you!

Our new apartment is smaller than our home in Michigan, but it is big enough for the four of us.  We have 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a decent size living space and even a washer and dryer in the unit!  Whohoo!  Even though it isn't our ideal living situation, we are extremely grateful for what God has given us!

Jonas has adjusted really well to our new home and loves that his bedroom is big enough for all of his many toys!  He has memorized the layout of our home and it makes me smile as he stumbles around right after waking up in the mornings!  The first few nights in the new place, if he would wake up in the middle of the night, he would mistakenly go into Joelle's room looking for us, only to wake up the sleeping baby!

Joelle has mastered sleeping through the night for me (again) and is consistently sleeping ten plus hours each night!  YEAH!!!  (One happy momma here!)  She is growing like crazy and already is fitting into 6 month clothes.  It doesn't seem possible, though, since just 4 months ago, her newborn clothes were too large for her when she weighed less than 6 lbs.  Now she is a whopping 12 1/2 lbs!  She is smiling at everything, enjoying her exer-saucer toy, and taking great naps for me too!  Just last week, she tried Rice Cereal baby food for the first time too!  Where did this big girl come from and what happened to my little baby!  She still loves to be held and cuddled, and a new favorite activity of hers is to sit in the exer-saucer and watch big brother run around like a silly boy!  She has nothing but smiles and giggles for him, well, except when he bonks her on the head with a toy!  Somehow, boys think it is very entertaining to bounce a toy off of a baby's head... hmmm....

Jonas has changed so much recently that I just can't believe it.  Every day he is looking more like a little kid and less like a baby!  He is talking up a storm and recently learned many of his colors!  I know I am probably a bit biased, but he is really a bright kid!  He remembers just about anything I tell him!  Anytime we are out and about, he looks for a 'yellow tractor'.  He gets so excited when he sees something that is yellow.  All I hear from the back seat is 'momma yellow tractor' over and over!  It makes me smile!  I think Yellow is officially his favorite color right now!  Jonas also enjoys looking for 'horsies' outside when we are driving.  There are several horse ranches in the area, and anytime there are fields around (lots of corn fields too), he asks 'horsie, horsie???'.  Makes my day!

Steve and I feel like we have settled in relatively well.  We love the town we are in.  It is a new, growing, beautiful town.  The only disappointment is that everything is pretty spread out, so we do more driving.  Indianapolis is about a 30 minute drive from our apartment.  During the recent census in 2010, Indianapolis had a population of over 829,000, however, the metro-Indy area reaches over 1.75 million!  Yikes!  Compared to Grand Rapid's population of just over 188,000, that is a HUGE change!  But it is a change we are enjoying!  Indianapolis is the 12th largest city in the US and one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the country.  To us, that means lots of people coming into town soon and lots of people that may need to hear about the Love of our Lord and Savior.

We are still trying to sell our home in Michigan, so please continue to pray that it will sell!  We know that God is in control of the situation, and we are trusting him to bring the right buyer around.  He will take care of us, that is one thing we are certain of!  Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy the pictures!
